For this exam you should read “SOA: Principles of Service Design”. The rest of the certification is also based on the same series of books.

SOA Consultant consists of 5 exams (01-05), SOA Architect consists of different exams as the Consultant (01-03 + 04 + 05). Maybe you’re confusing the Consultant with the Professional (2 exams). Have a look on http://soaschool.com/matrix to see the different certifications and the matching exams.

How come you are on your 5th exam and still a SOA Consultant? “Now one more exam to pass and I’m a certified SOA Consultant. The fifth exam will be quite technical”
