Visual Studio 2008 - Code Metrics and .net source code

The new Visual Studio will have a new tool called Code Metrics, "Code Metrics is a new tool window that helps users find and act upon complex and unmaintainable areas within an application". More information can be found on the blog of the team.
Scott Guthrie has some very good news, we'll be able to download the source code of the .net framework! Just think about all the geeky nights we'll have exploring this code :-)

The tool NDepend has more than 60 metrics for .NET code:

For those who don't have the Team System, Exact Magic Software has a free add in to Visual Studio called "Studio Tools" that has Code Metrics built in as well. It's pretty much the same thing as the one in the Team Edition. You can download it from exactmagic.com
